Seeking Good or Evil
Proverbs 12:27 He who seeks good finds good will, but evil comes to him who searches for it.
First of all, THANK YOU for your prayers and message, it meant alot! And it's good to hear from you!!
On this passage, it makes sense that you reap what you sow. But then, there are times when those things we don't seek come to us...ie "why do bad things happen to good people?" I've also heard it said "...it rains on the just and the unjust"...
I have been pondering it and I think what we seek reflects our heart. If we are seeking good we are pursuing things that are kind, gentle, right, noble and loving. Kinda like bearing good fruit. If we are seeking evil we are pursuing selfish desires which leads to destruction weather it be to ourselves or others around us.
Also puts in perspective our focus. If we are focusing on God and his power or Satan and his. Rejoicing that God can do all things or worring over what Satan is trying to do. I think when our focus is on God...good things happen.
