Play Along
Alright humor me everyone and play along. Keep your anonymity if you like but please answer the following.
You are royalty...how do you act, dress, eat, sleep...what is your day like? What is your favorite thing about this life?

Woo Hoo! Royalty, I am very fun, I share my wealth and possessions with others - that's my favorite thing about this life, I am classy in my clothing choices, I eat all fresh & organic foods, I spend my time mentoring young women to be strong and sure of themselves. I also give up laundry and housekeeping, someone else can do that - I'll be a nice boss. How Fun - for a couple minutes I really pictured myself as a princess :) Erin
I think the closest thing to modern royalty are our celebrities. I would definitely hire a chef first, personal trainer second (gotta keep our priorities here,) and I would spend my days doing whatever I wished. A typical day would most likely start with sleeping in (no alarm clocks!), my chef would make me a big healthy breakfast, I would stroll in my gardens, meet with my personal trainer, have a leisurely lunch, read books, watch movies and then take a long relaxing bath. If only this were reality!
What I would enjoy the most, would be being able to eat whatever I wanted. Now, I'm not saying mass quantities, but I can have dinner parties and fancy food. Wine, and cheeses, and duck and lamb. I wouldn't have to budget at the grocery store, I could just go on a shopping spree. Other than that, I don't think I'd change too much. I don't crave anything else. Although I would be driving a jag and would have an old corvette in the garage for Sunday drives. :)
Well I would definately sleep as much as I would like...definately no alarm clocks. But I would still want to be involved in stuff. I have been stuck at home for a month now and it can get very boring. So I would probably take my love of planning and getting together with people and plan lots of elaborate parties at my mansion. I would take friends on vacations too...places that are nice and warm and maybe to Alaska or whereever my little heart desired at the moment. I would definately have my own plane so I could just get up and go and take whoever would come along (even if I had to pay my friends their work wages to come with me...that would be soooo great). As far as clothes go, I would have someone there with me to help me pick out clothes, and do my hair and makeup. Like Sarah went through recently, I went through a transformation about a year ago where I got my hair cut and colored...but if I had a stylist that could do my hair and makeup that would be soooooo much better. Lets see what else..this is fun!! Oh yah...taking the non-selfish approach:) I would love to work with and for charities or more at my church. I really enjoy doing funeral luncheons ( a service my church provides for the family after a funeral), but because I have to work, I can't participate. I don't think I would sit around all day having people waiting on me hand and foot...but definately a cook and a maid would have to be a must:) That would free me up to do charity work!!! That was fun!!
Okay, I think I would live with either Heather or Kari (maybe work out an every other week schedule?). Because I was thinking that if I were royalty I would have someone else to cook for me and plan parties, so I think it's a great compromise! And I could be like the court jester, making jokes and performing funny dances. And instead of hiring a maid, I would have cleaning parties, where all my friends would come over to clean, but we would dress up in maid costumes and have fake accents and each of us would have a feather dusters with handles of our favorite colors. Yeah, that sounds fun. Also I would have a giant room to hold my craft supplies.
Alrighty.....royalty! Understand now, you did not say I was simply was way way way well off financially, but ROYALTY! So, as royalty, what would I do,how would I act, dress, etc! HHmmmmmm....
My first thought is endless resources! No, I could not make everyone equal, although I'd love to! As a small child I use to dream of a world where everyone was equal, where we didn't deal with money. Everyone would work simply because we wanted to do stuff for others, and in turn, others worked to do stuff for us. Everyone using their God given talents to help others. I can't seem to grow a garden, but I can sew, and I can bake. So maybe I would bake my neighbors food from her garden. Or she would give me veggies or fruit from her garden. Perhaps the people in telecommunications would work so that someone else could work to bring them healthcare. We each would be equal. WOW--off tangent!
I would try and help as many homeless though and sick in my country! I hope it's not the entire world, don't think I could afford that! I would welcome though all those that I could!
I think if I were royalty, I would have to think about where I lived. I have always wanted to live in a castle....a real castel! All of my immediate family (mom/dad/husband/kids/mother in law/father in law) and maybe even my extended family would all be invited to live with me! As royalty, they are royalty too and deserving of everything I have to offer them! Each would have their own room, and personal assistant to help them in whatever capacity they desired!
Next, I would have to say clothes! Each of our personal assistants would be in charge of hiring a staff that would assist each of us in finding the right clothes that look right ON US! Not necessarily designer clothes, but GOOD QUALITY clothes, clothes that made us look destinguishable and not awful. The under 18 crowd would have to have strict guidelines though, nothing too risque' or revealing but rather fun!
Oh, and the crowns! You did say royalty right? We would each have to have a crown of sorts, made of the stone of our birth month! Something pretty, and maybe accented by diamonds or such! I personally like silver or white gold, so it would not be made of yellow gold. These would be worn at major events or special events or special outings in public!
What would I eat? Anything I wanted, and no, I am not a health nut and would not necessarily eat all sorts of crap, but I would eat foods that I like. I would definitely have a cook to make everything for me! Remember I'm kind of picky...well, maybe a lot picky! But I would have a personal trainer for each member of my family to help them stay fit! Everyone has their own needs/desires and everyone has different things that work...so yeah, it would be a trainer for each. Oh, and an activities director! I would have to have someone planning all the activities I could do with my family! ALL of us, together, doing things! Travelling, seeing things we could not otherwise be able to see!
Oh, I almost forgot this one! This is something I've wanted for a long time...I would hire a mentor, something I've wanted for a very long time! A mentor who was strong in scripture and biblical history! Someone who could tell me all about the bible, where and when things happened in history, and how they fit with world history! Someone who could teach me the people of the bible and all about it! Not just what's in it, but everything surrounding each book of the bible! In depth history I'm talking. I would want to learn Hebrew and Greek to help me with the understanding of the true biblical contents, not English interpretations! I would try to evangelize when I could. It would be a priority to put it in my schedule!
And my kids would all have private tutors! The best I could find!
We would have parties for everyone! I would want my children involved in everything with a few short escapes for my hubby and I to just get away on our private yacht to wherever we wanted....maybe some place carribean!
WOW_--I could think of so much more, but I need to get back to reality and clean my house and do laundry! *sigh* Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.....wouldn't it be nice to just have ONE of the above things, let alone all of it?
For now, I'm content with what I have! I'll let someone else be royalty...I didn't even touch but a smidgen of what their social obligations to society would be! WOW! Too much pressure for me! I like being me....most days!
