The IRS made some changes and needs time to update their systems. <BR/><BR/>There is a list of the forms affected in this article: <BR/>http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=177065,00.html<BR/><BR/>Or if you're not like me and have no interest reading through IRS notices:<BR/><BR/>The Feb. 11 delay caused by the AMT patch will affect any taxpayer using any of these five forms:<BR/><BR/>Form 8863, Education Credits <BR/>Form 5695, Residential Energy Credits <BR/>Form 1040A Schedule 2, Child and Dependent Care Expenses for Form 1040A Filers. <BR/>Form 8396, Mortgage Interest Credit. <BR/>Form 8859, District of Columbia First-Time Homebuyer Credit. <BR/><BR/>Electronic returns involving those five forms will not be accepted until systems are updated in February. Similarly, paper filers should wait to file as well.
